Where is the Mazda Zoom-Zoom Kid Now?

Recall the commercials with the Mazda Zoom-Zoom kid from almost two decades ago? Mazda has been using the phrase “Zoom-Zoom” since two thousand when a youthfull boy murmured the phrase against a musical backdrop of African-inspired music. The song, “Zoom-Zoom-Zoom”, was performed by an artist named Jibril Serapis Bey. It is a cover of a African tribal tune called “Capoeira Mata Um”.

The early ads featured a youthful boy named Micah Kanters, who was ten years old when the very first “Zoom-Zoom” ads were filmed. Kanters graduated from the University of Michigan Ann Arbor in two thousand ten with a degree in History. Kanters attended the Notre Dame Law School and graduated in 2014, according to his IMDb biography page.

As a child, Kanters also played roles in several movies, beginning with Sailorman (2000), then Betaville (2001) and Harvest (2002). A LinkedIn page attributed to Kanter shows in fact he did accomplish his Law degree from Notre Dame Law School and now works as a Law Clerk at the Illinois Attorney General’s Office.

Whatever Micah Kanter determines to do in the future, his presence will live on in the YouTube sidebar whenever “Famous Commercial Spokespeople” or “Lost Commercial Starlets: Where Are They Now?” is ever searched for online.

Zoom-Zoom still lives on today

The Zoom-Zoom brand lives on today in every fresh Mazda vehicle. Zoom-Zoom is more than just a marketing phrase, it has become a brand essence—one that Mazda lives by. From the epic two thousand sixteen MX-5 Miata to the two thousand sixteen Mazda CX-3, each vehicle was inspired and infused with the Zoom-Zoom essence. A car is more than a means of transportation; it’s an attitude—a lifestyle choice. Mazda’s spirit has been the inspiration for Zoom-Zoom. When craftsmanship and creativity are married a Mazda is born and every Mazda is steeped with a little bit soul. The “soul of motion”, according to Mazda, is infused with every vehicle that comes off of the assembly line.

Wielding a Mazda is about way more than just car ownership; it’s a way of life at Serra Mazda. We want to put you behind the wheel of a Mazda to feel the Zoom-Zoom. If you feel inspired and would like to schedule a test drive, give us a call! Our team would be glad to let you feel the Zoom-Zoom in person.
