German carmaker Volkswagen is presently working on developing the next generation Volkswagen Polo hatchback. Presently in its 5th generation, the current model of the Polo is almost eight years old. With strong competition from cars like the Hyundai Elite i20 and the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, a finish overhaul is the need of the hour. IAB has released a fresh render photo of the side profile of the upcoming fresh Polo 2017, which exposes the possible design of the car. The sixth-generation Volkswagen Polo will be based on the very modular MQB A0 platform. The fresh platform is lightweight and offers improved driving convenience along with better rail and treating. Being lightweight, this fresh platform also offers improved fuel economy. On the design front, the fresh Volkswagen Polo will get sportier exteriors and premium interiors with quality materials. The fresh Polo will be feature loaded with a a touch-screen infotainment system, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The fresh generation two thousand seventeen Volkswagen Polo is expected to get fresh range of petrol and diesel engine options. Reports suggest that the company will substitute the 1.4-litre & 1.6-litre petrol and diesel engines with fresh 1.5-litre units but the company is yet to confirm it. Engine options on the fresh Polo will range from 1.0-litre to 1.6-litre TSI and TDI engines while the range topping Polo GTI variant will get a 1.8-litre TSI petrol unit producing one hundred eighty nine BHP of power and two hundred fifty Nm of peak torque.
