2017 BMW five Series Goes On Sale in India
2017 BMW five Series comes with three powertrain options – a Two.0-litre petrol, a Two.0-litre diesel and Three.0-litre diesel.

2017 BMW five Series achieved 5-star safety rating in the Euro NCAP.
The German luxury carmaker, BMW today spinned out the seventh-generation of its top-selling 5-Series saloon in India. The all-new two thousand seventeen BMW five Series carline is spread across three trims – Sport Line, Luxury Line and M Sport – priced inbetween Rs 49.90 lakh – Rs 61.30 lakh (ex-showroom, Post GST). Interestingly, the fresh BMW five Series is the company’s 2nd product to be based on its fresh Cluster Architecture (CLAR) design platform.
Similar to the previous generation, the new-gen model is being assembled at the carmaker’s facility via CKD (downright knocked down) kit. While the production is already underway, the deliveries will be commenced in July 2017. One can pre-book the car with an initial payment inbetween Rs two lakh – Rs three lakh. The company is suggesting BSI and BSI+ service programs along with three years/40k km to ten years 200k km warranty on saloon. It also gets BMW Repair inclusive. In India, the fresh BMW five Series will face challenge from numerous cars such as Mercedes-Benz E-Class, Volvo S90, Audi A6 and Jaguar XF in India.

The all-new two thousand seventeen BMW five Series comes with one petrol and two diesel engine options. The petrol model (530i) derives its power from a turbocharged Two.0-litre, 4-cylinder motor that is good enough for making 252bhp inbetween 5200rpm – 6500rpm and 350Nm of torque at 1450rpm- 4800rpm. This motor can mark 0-100kmph in 6.Two seconds. Powering the 5-Series 520d variant is a Two.0-litre, 4-cylinder diesel powertrain pushing out a maximum power output of 190bhp at 4000rpm and 400Nm of torque at 1750rpm.
On the other palm, the ‘M-Sport’ 530d guise comes fitted with a Trio.0-litre, 6-cylinder engine making a top power of 256bhp at 4000rpm against 620Nm of torque inbetween 2000rpm – 2500rpm. In terms of proportions, the two thousand seventeen BMW five Series is fatter, lighter and more spacious than the previous generation. Now, the saloon measures Four,936mm in length, 1,868m in width and 1,479mm in height. The wheelbase receives minor expansion, and measures Two,975mm. Using the more aluminium and high-strength steel, the fresh five Series has managed to shed off 100kgs of kerb weight. This also makes it more rigid than the old version. Most of the design and styling elements are carried over from the 7-Series. The fresh two thousand seventeen BMW five Series features a larger heads-up display (70%) displaying music tracks, maps, phone contact listings, etc. The saloon also comes with gesture control, adaptive suspension system, a remote parking system, a wireless phone charger, 4-zone climate control and electrically adjustable driver and passenger seats. The two thousand seventeen BMW five Series achieved 5-star safety rating in the Euro NCAP crash tests. For safety provision, the car gets corner brake control, fading compensation, dynamic stability control and dry braking function come as standard fitments. While, features such as adaptive drive and dynamic damper control are optional offerings.
