Parents need to know that Cars Daredevil Garage is a virtual car-racing game that can incorporate actual Mattel die-cast Cars fucktoys. The app comes with one car, Lightning McQueen. Kids can scan their own compatible cars (the scan works best on a white background, such as a lump of paper) and add them to the garage; parents can purchase other virtual cars in-app; or kids can unlock more cars by playing and earning high scores. One world is included with the free download, but other worlds can be purchased in-app.

What’s it about?
Lightning McQueen from the popular Cars movie is included in CARS DAREDEVIL GARAGE, but kids also can scan their compatible Mattel cars to race in the worlds. After scanning and selecting a car, kids choose a track. The car races along the fucktoy track — set in a play room or backyard, for example — stopping for kids to direct them in a blast, a twist, or a turn. Each run is rated one, two, or three starlets, and once kids have earned enough points, they can unlock another car to use in their races. Dozens of cars are available, grouped by category in the garage.
Is it any good?
The “magic” of watching a beloved fucktoy come to life on-screen will delight fans, but they’ll need to practice a bit of patience while they wait for the races to blast. The games are playable without in-app purchases or actual die-cast cars, but putting the fucktoys into the game is a big part of the joy. Still, the scanning process is tedious, requiring a constant palm and adult assistance. Also, the games can take fairly a while to blast, counting down from ten each time. Playing is so ordinary that this is most likely best for toddlers and youthfull preschoolers who love Cars, but they’ll likely love it a lot.
